▲ Players of Korean Air celebrate after winning the championship trophy by defeating Hyundai Capital in Game 5 of the men's championship series during the 2025–2026 V-League professional volleyball season.
The Korea Volleyball Federation (KOVO) announced the match schedule for the men's and women's divisions of the 2026–2027 V-League today (August 18).
The regular season of the new volleyball season will kick off on October 31 and wrap up on April 2 of next year.
In accordance with tradition, the opening matches will feature the teams that clashed in the championship series of the previous season.
On October 31 at 2:00 PM, men's defending champions Korean Air and runners-up Hyundai Capital will play their first match of the season at Gyeyang Gymnasium in Incheon.
At 5:00 PM on the same day, women's defending champions GS Caltex and runners-up Korea Expressway Corporation will face off at Jangchung Gymnasium in Seoul.
SOOP, the women's team that joined the V-League after acquiring Pepper Savings Bank, will play its inaugural match against Heungkuk Life Insurance on November 1 at 4:00 PM away at Samsan World Gymnasium in Incheon.
The temporary home venue for the men's team KB Insurance has not yet been finalized.
KB Insurance lost its home ground in December 2024 when its previous home stadium, Uijeongbu Gymnasium, was closed after safety issues were pointed out in a detailed safety diagnosis, and subsequently used Gyeongmin University Gymnasium in Uijeongbu as a temporary home stadium.
As the city of Uijeongbu decided to demolish Uijeongbu Gymnasium and completely rebuild it, KB Insurance decided to play its home games in another region for the 2026–2027 season.
KB Insurance will play its season opener against Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance at its temporary home ground on November 1.
The new V-League season will consist of six rounds for both men's and women's divisions, with each team playing 36 matches, and the postseason will run from April 5 to a maximum of April 22 next year.
The semi-playoff will be held as a single match if the fourth-place team in the regular season is within a three-point point difference from the third-place team.
The playoffs will be a best-of-three series, and the championship series will be a best-of-five series.
