Actor So Ji-sub has candidly shared his thoughts on the success of "Mr. Kim," along with the weight and sense of responsibility he feels as he approaches his 30th year since debut.

On August 18, the global media platform BoldPage released a pictorial and interview titled "Global Q's," which was conducted directly with So by global editors from overseas.

Regarding the recently much-loved SBS drama "Mr. Kim," So smiled and said, "There are many generations who haven't seen 'I'm Sorry, I Love You,' but because diverse generations watched 'Mr. Kim' this time, I am nowadays called 'Mr. Kim' much more than my own name." On why he chose the project, he revealed, "Rather than the action, I liked the narrative held by Mr. Kim and the environment in which he lived."

He also spoke about his representative hit work "I'm Sorry, I Love You," which continues to be loved overseas and even dubbed a source of "K-trauma." He noted, "When languages are different, emotions can sometimes be conveyed a little differently, but it's fascinating that people feel the same things." He left a witty warning for those who haven't watched the drama yet, saying, "Since it's a sad ending, it can be a big deal if you carelessly click on the wrong thing. It could leave you feeling sad for a while."

So also shared his thoughts on the conceptualization of Season 2 of "Mr. Kim," which many people are anticipating. Raising expectations, So said, "Rather than an episodic format, I hope there is a single main storyline," adding, "I don't know how it will be prepared. Depending on that, Mr. Kim's role will also change slightly. Then I think I'll be able to show various things within that framework. Will they probably move as a team? First of all, the worldview is just too huge."

Celebrating his 30th year in acting, So mentioned that the burden he feels toward his projects has actually grown heavier. "I don't seem to let things go easily in certain aspects," he said. "Because a single project going wrong can cause harm to so many people, I always have to be careful and pay close attention."

He continued with an honest confession about living life as a star. When asked what it is like to spend a lifetime living as someone known to the public, So shared his deep concerns, saying, "It's something to be grateful for. But 51% of it is good? And 49% is not." He added, "It's definitely not an easy life. It feels like it gets heavier and tougher as time goes on. Now, it doesn't just end within South Korea, but many people overseas also like it and give their reactions to it. I think leading actors especially have a clear sense of responsibility regarding that."
