The Democratic Party and the government are scheduled to hold their first high-level consultative meeting on August 23, following the inauguration of party leader Kim Min-seok.
Senior Spokesperson Park Sung-joon met with reporters today (August 18) following a meeting between leader Kim and Cheong Wa Dae Chief of Staff Kang Hoon-sik at the National Assembly, stating, "It appears we will hold the high-level consultative meeting at around 11 a.m. on Sunday (August 23)."
Spokesperson Park described the upcoming meeting as a "meet-and-greet," while also explaining that "pending issues will be discussed."
Consequently, the meeting is expected to broadly cover the government's real estate tax reform proposals and housing supply measures.
Meanwhile, when asked about plans for leader Kim to pay a courtesy call on the main opposition People Power Party, Spokesperson Park referred to the "ABC Plan" presented by Kim as his inaugural pledge the previous day, saying, "Will leader Kim not pursue politics of expansion and addition?"
He added, "It seems that all of those implicative meanings are contained within it (the ABC Plan)."
The ABC Plan announced by leader Kim stands for "Affordability" (focusing on livelihood politics and living-cost politics), "Broadening" (large and wide-ranging additive and expansionist politics), and "Competence" (capable, livelihood-centered politics).
