Director Christopher Nolan's film "Odyssey" dominated the box office during the Liberation Day holiday.

According to data compiled by the Korean Film Council's integrated ticket computer network on the 18th, "Odyssey" drew 1,983,652 viewers nationwide from the 15th to the 17th, which marked its second weekend and included the Liberation Day substitute holiday. Its cumulative audience reached 5,163,460.

With this, it has become the fourth film released domestically this year to surpass the 5 million viewer mark, following "The King and the Man" (16.91 million), "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" (7.54 million), and "Colony" (5.95 million).

Having maintained its position at the top of the box office for 16 consecutive days since its release on the 5th, "Odyssey" shows no signs of slowing down. Advance ticket sales also recorded 510,000, maintaining its overwhelming top spot. Shot entirely on IMAX film cameras, "Odyssey" sparked an IMAX ticket reservation craze in its early release period, but enthusiasm for viewing has remained hot not only in special theaters but also in regular screening rooms.

"Odyssey" depicts the events that unfold as Odysseus (played by Matt Damon), a hero who led the decade-long Trojan War to victory, sets out on a journey to return to his wife Penelope (played by Anne Hathaway) and son Telemachus (played by Tom Holland), who are waiting for him while taking advantage of the king's absence.
