Heavy rainfall exceeding 450 millimeters poured down in Tongyeong and Busan yesterday (the 17th), paralyzing roads and triggering a wave of home inundations. With up to 60 millimeters of additional rain forecasted for the southern coast of South Gyeongsang Province through today, concerns over further damage persist.

3. Kim Min-seok Elected New Democratic Party Leader; Pro-Chung Faction Dominates Supreme Council

Representative Kim Min-seok has been elected as the new leader of the Democratic Party.
