Reflecting the unusually heated atmosphere of the Democratic Party's national convention, President Lee Jae-myung emphasized, "We must firmly unite as one again around the new leadership." It has been learned that President Lee will invite the convention candidates to the Blue House for a dinner meeting the day after tomorrow, the 19th, to promote internal party unity.

This is an exclusive report by reporter Kang Cheongwan.

Today, President Lee Jae-myung emphasized "post-convention party unity" through a video congratulatory address for the Democratic Party national convention.

[President Lee Jae-myung: Up until now, we have fiercely debated and competed in a manner befitting the Democratic Party, but starting today, we must firmly unite as one again around the new leadership.]

From controversies over the legitimate lineage of the party leadership to disputes digging up past actions.

[Kim Min-seok / Democratic Party leadership candidate (August 12, TV debate): You ruined the presidential election, why aren't you apologizing for that? Isn't that a betrayal in itself?]

[Jung Chung-rae / Democratic Party leadership candidate (August 12, TV debate): It seems you have a lot of trauma from betraying and leaving the party of President Roh Moo-hyun, and from that betrayal.]

With severe conflict flaring up between pro-Lee Jae-myung and pro-Moon Jae-in factions, President Lee delivered a message of harmony.

Former President Moon Jae-in also expressed concern in his video congratulatory address.

[Moon Jae-in / Former President: If things go on like this, we are in big trouble. Competition must not divide the party.]

It was confirmed through SBS's reporting that President Lee plans to invite the candidates from this national convention to the Blue House for dinner on the evening of the day after tomorrow to foster internal unity following the convention.

During the national convention in August of last year, President Lee invited his competitors, Representative Jung Chung-rae and lawmaker Park Chan-dae, for a dinner meeting ten days after it concluded.

Holding the dinner just two days later this time is interpreted as reflecting the severity of the internal party conflicts caused by the convention.
