Ahead of the election of a new party leader for the Democratic Party, President Lee Jae-myung stated, "While we have fiercely debated and competed in a manner befitting the Democratic Party, starting today, we must unite tightly around the new leadership once again."

In a video congratulatory message sent to the Democratic Party's national convention held at the Daejeon Convention Center, President Lee made this request, emphasizing, "Our Democratic Party has been at its strongest when we are united."

President Lee said, "Through countless moments of crisis, fueled by the dedication of our party members and the trust of the public, the Democratic Party has steadily grown into a stronger party." He added, "Because we each share an urgent desire for a better country, it is clear that we will continue to move forward as a stronger and more capable party that leads South Korea's growth and leap forward."

"Over the past year, amidst the waves of various crises, we have instead confirmed South Korea's potential, possibilities, and great opportunities," he continued, proposing, "Let us make this year the start of a bold dream for an irreplaceable South Korea that no other nation in the world can substitute."

He went on to say, "I hope we will march forward without hesitation alongside the people toward an essential nation that the world truly needs, an industrial powerhouse where all citizens and regions equally enjoy the opportunities and benefits of growth, and a South Korea where the people are masters and happy together." He added, "I trust our capable and strong leadership of the Democratic Party, who are comrades walking toward the same destination with the same aspirations, and who are building a democratic South Korea together."

Finally, President Lee re-emphasized, "Respected and beloved fellow party members, we are one."
