A passenger was injured after a roadside tree collapsed and crushed a passing taxi on a road in Sinjeong-dong, Nam-gu, Ulsan.
The accident occurred at around 7:24 AM today (August 17).
The Ulsan Fire Headquarters stated that a man in his 60s who was inside the taxi complained of lower back pain and was transported to a hospital.
In addition, the fallen tree blocked four out of five lanes, disrupting traffic flow.
Fire authorities completed safety measures after about one hour and 20 minutes.
At around 7:44 AM, rockfall occurred in Chari, Duseo-myeon, Ulju-gun.
At around 7:52 AM and 8:50 AM, trees fell in Jungsan-dong, Buk-gu, and Seohari, Duseo-myeon, Ulju-gun, respectively, prompting fire authorities to be dispatched for safety measures.
Heavy rain advisories and strong wind advisories are currently in effect for Ulsan.
The maximum instantaneous wind speed was recorded at approximately 11 meters per second.
The cumulative precipitation from yesterday to the present is 139.1 mm.
