Lee Jung-hoo (San Francisco Giants), starting as the cleanup hitter for the second consecutive day, extended his hitting streak to two games.

Lee started as the cleanup hitter and right fielder in a home game against the Colorado Rockies for the 2026 Major League Baseball (MLB) regular season held at Oracle Park in San Francisco, California, today (August 17), recording one hit in five at-bats.

Having produced a hit the previous day for the first time in four games, Lee continued his hitting streak for the second straight game.

His season batting average dipped slightly from 0.293 to 0.292 (127 hits in 435 at-bats).

Facing opposing starter Gabriel Hughes, Lee was retired on a third baseman flyout in the bottom of the first inning and a right fielder flyout in the bottom of the third.

He was subsequently retired again on a left fielder flyout in the bottom of the fifth and a right fielder flyout in the bottom of the sixth.

In his final at-bat with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning while trailing 13-7, he finally came through with a hit.

On a 2-1 count, he hit a low 150 km/h sinker from the fifth opposing pitcher, Zach Agnos, for a single to right field.

However, following hits from his teammates did not materialize, preventing him from scoring.

San Francisco suffered a 13-7 comeback loss.

With a record of 51 wins and 73 losses and a winning percentage of 0.411, they maintained fourth place in the National League (NL) West.

Kim Ha-seong (Atlanta Braves), who drove in a run the previous day for the first time in 73 days, stayed on the bench during a home game against the Arizona Diamondbacks held at Truist Park in Atlanta, Georgia.

Atlanta won 5-3.

With 74 wins and 50 losses and a winning percentage of 0.597, they firmly maintained first place in the NL East.
