At around 4:30 a.m. today (the 17th), a landslide occurred in Okpo-dong, Geoje, Gyeongsangnam-do, hitting a nearby apartment complex and sending mud and debris flowing into the first floor of an apartment building.

Fire authorities conducted rescue operations at the scene and found two buried individuals, among whom one was transported to the hospital in a state of cardiac arrest, according to officials.

Authorities are continuing rescue operations at the scene, suspecting that there may be additional people trapped under the debris.
