As torrential rain poured over areas including Ilun-myeon in Geoje, Gyeongsangnam-do, at around 1:30 a.m. today (August 17), an emergency disaster text alert for heavy rain was issued.

The Korea Meteorological Administration stated that extremely heavy rain of around 100 mm per hour was falling near Ilun-myeon due to the downpour, and urged residents to "secure safety immediately."
