Going forward, it will become easier for families of individuals with developmental disabilities or severe dementia to view medical records on their behalf.

The Ministry of Health and Welfare has decided to partially revise relevant notices so that when patients find it difficult to check their own medical records, family members or legal representatives can view the records without having to prepare documents and visit the hospital, or submit separate paperwork.
