A foreign worker in his 50s sustained severe injuries to his chest while working on a drainage system at an elementary school in Jumunjin-eup, Gangneung, Gangwon Province, around 8:40 a.m. today (August 15).

Mr. A, a Kyrgyzstan national in his 50s, was transported to a nearby hospital in a state of cardiac arrest immediately after the accident.

It is reported that Mr. A suffered deep chest wounds from a grinder blade while performing formwork on the drainage system.

Police and fire authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of the accident.
