A fire broke out at a resource recycling facility in Hapae-ri, Eunhyeon-myeon, Yangju, Gyeonggi Province, at around 5:00 a.m. today (August 15).

Fire authorities issued a Level 1 response, mobilizing all available personnel and equipment from the jurisdiction, and are currently working to extinguish the blaze.

However, due to the large amount of waste inside the facility, it is expected to take some time to fully put out the fire.

No casualties have been reported so far.

Once the major flames are brought under control, fire authorities plan to investigate the exact cause of the fire.
