Next to the Statue of Peace, there is always an empty chair. It represents the vacant seats of the 235 victims of the Japanese military's sexual slavery who have passed away, as well as the space left for us to fill.

History that is not remembered repeats itself. Ensuring that the honor and dignity of the victims are fully restored and that such pain is never repeated by refusing to forget—that is our role in filling this empty chair.
