Tomorrow (August 15), these remnants, namely a low-pressure system, will approach our country, bringing rain nationwide throughout the National Liberation Day holiday weekend.

There has been hardly any significant rain since August, making this a long-awaited and welcome relief.

It is especially welcome as heavy rain is expected mainly in the southern regions, which have been suffering from severe droughts this summer.

However, as the intensity is expected to be rather strong, caution is needed to prevent safety accidents during the vacation season.

The rain will begin in the southern regions tomorrow afternoon and expand nationwide by the day after tomorrow.

Looking at the precipitation amounts, up to 150 to 200 mm or more of heavy rain is expected along the southern coast and around Mount Jirisan, and up to 80 mm in other southern regions and Jeju. Meanwhile, the Seoul metropolitan area, where rain begins the day after tomorrow, will see a relatively small amount of 5 to 30 mm.

In addition, surprise showers may pour down in the central regions until tomorrow.

Tomorrow, National Liberation Day, Seoul's daytime temperature is expected to reach 31°C (88°F), and it will feel muggy due to high humidity.

The heat will subside the day after tomorrow as rain falls, and this rain will continue until Monday, the substitute holiday.

However, in the central regions, the rain will likely experience lulls in many areas starting Sunday afternoon.
