The follow-up episode of the Netflix web variety show featuring actor Ha-young is reportedly unlikely to be released.

The decision follows the controversy surrounding the pro-Japanese activities of Ha-young's great-grandfather, which led to the postponement and eventual cancellation of the scheduled follow-up release.

The Netflix web variety show "Hongbo-hareo On Geon Matneunde" decided not to air the follow-up episode featuring both Ha-young and Jung Hae-in, apparently mindful of the controversy over Ha-young's great-grandfather.

Given that the controversy surrounding the lead actor flared up right before the release, Netflix appears to have chosen to minimize further promotional exposure.

Previously, promotional content featuring Ha-young and Jung Hae-in was released on August 6, and the end of the video announced that an additional follow-up video would be released on August 10.

However, the follow-up episode was not released past the scheduled date, and it ultimately went down the path of cancellation.

"Hongbo-hareo On Geon Matneunde" is a web variety show where cast members of Netflix projects directly promote their works.

In the previous video, Ha-young and Jung Hae-in appeared as lead actors of the Netflix series "A Bloody Lucky Day" and shared various stories related to the project.

The issue arose from a segment in the web variety show where Ha-young talked about her family background.

Ha-young revealed that she comes from a four-generation medical family, stating, "From my great-grandfather to my grandfather, father, and sister, they are all doctors."

She also disclosed that her great-grandfather was the first person to open a Western medicine practice in Hanyang.

Ha-young had previously mentioned her great-grandfather on programs such as KBS2's "Problem Child in House."

Afterward, controversy spread online as claims surfaced that Ha-young's great-grandfather was Ahn Sang-ho and that he had a record of pro-Japanese activities.

In particular, contents in which Ha-young directly mentioned her great-grandfather were re-examined one after another.

Jung Hae-in and Ha-young were scheduled to conduct interviews with domestic reporters ahead of the release of "A Bloody Lucky Day," but those schedules were also canceled following the controversy.

Although Ha-young bowed her head in a handwritten apology, stating, "Through this incident, while searching for related materials myself, I learned about my great-grandfather's pro-Japanese activities," the fallout has not subsided.
