The group BIGBANG will serve as public relations ambassadors for the Korea AeroSpace Administration (KASA).
YG Entertainment announced that BIGBANG has been appointed as the first public relations ambassadors since the launch of the Korea AeroSpace Administration in 2024, and will take on the role of promoting the future vision and key policies of South Korea's aerospace industry to the general public.
KASA stated, "We appointed BIGBANG as public relations ambassadors to create a new challenge for South Korea's aerospace sector together with the public," adding, "Moving forward, we will expand public interest and participation in aerospace through various communication activities with BIGBANG."
YG Entertainment explained that taking advantage of the group's name "BIGBANG," which signifies the birth of the universe, their upcoming 20th-anniversary world tour is also themed around space, noting that the narrative BIGBANG has built over the past 20 years naturally aligns with the new journey of South Korea's aerospace industry.
Going forward, BIGBANG will participate in the "Dream Capsule" public participation program linked with major aerospace projects.
The "Dream Capsule" is a project that converts messages received from fans into code images to be loaded onto Nuri-ho Flight 5 and launched into space. Applications from V.I.P (the fandom name) worldwide will be accepted starting through a website opening on Friday, August 14 at 10:00 a.m. to commemorate their 20th anniversary.
BIGBANG will release a new digital single titled [BiiiG] on the 19th of this month and embark on a 20th-anniversary world tour spanning 33 shows across 19 cities worldwide, starting with concerts at the Goyang Stadium held from the 21st to the 23rd of this month.
