An ambulance that runs entirely on solar power and provides medical treatment in remote areas lacking both electricity and hospitals is drawing attention.

At first glance, it looks like a simple electric vehicle.

It is "Stella Zuba," a solar ambulance developed by students at Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands.

It was designed so that the vehicle itself can serve as a mobile clinic in isolated regions lacking power grids and hospitals.

By installing high-efficiency solar panels on the roof and equipping it with a battery, medical equipment can be used even at night or on cloudy days, according to the reports.

On clear days, it can travel up to 715 kilometers a day using solar power alone, and even if the vehicle stops, the remaining power is designed to be supplied to medical equipment first.

The research team plans to test it soon in Kenya, Africa.
