The Jinju Police Station in Gyeongsangnam-do announced today (August 13) that it has sent firefighter A, in his 20s, to the prosecution without detention on charges of violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Sexual Crimes.
Firefighter A is accused of illegally filming users by placing a tumbler-shaped small camera in places such as a women's locker room at a sports facility in Jinju from early this year until May.
Through digital forensic analysis, the police secured dozens of related videos and identified a total of five victims.
Firefighter A admitted to the crime, stating to the police that he did it out of curiosity.
The firefighting authorities plan to proceed with disciplinary procedures, such as suspension from duty, against firefighter A based on the investigation results.
