As Homeplus stores that had entered temporary suspension reopened starting today (August 13), labor organizations and political circles in the Incheon area launched a campaign encouraging people to use the stores.

The Incheon Joint Countermeasure Committee for Resolving the Homeplus Crisis announced that it held an "Open Run Campaign" at the Homeplus Ganseok branch in Namdong-gu, Incheon, this morning.

The committee promoted the campaign to support the normalization of business after Homeplus stores, which faced the crisis of liquidation due to prolonged temporary closures, reopened.

Not only labor groups but also local political figures and the head of Namdong-gu Office participated in this campaign.

Amid the reopening of 67 Homeplus stores nationwide, five locations in Incheon opened their doors again: the Ganseok, Cheongra, Jakjeon, Inha, and Guwol branches.

The committee stated, "The Homeplus issue is linked to the lives of more than 100,000 citizens," adding, "We will lend our strength so that business can be normalized through social interest and national solidarity."
