1. The government has decided to create new housing sites on a scale of 100,000 units in the Seoul metropolitan area and has preferentially announced three new candidate sites. The supply volume for these three new candidate sites totals 27,000 units, consisting of 21,000 units in the Wabu-eup area of Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province; 4,500 units in the Jangji-dong area of Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province; and 1,000 units in the Yeomchang-dong area of Gangseo-gu, Seoul. The government emphasized that it expects to announce more than 73,000 additional units within this year to reach a total of 100,000 units, which, combined with previously announced plans, is expected to supply over 230,000 units in the metropolitan area. The government added that sites whose supply plans were announced last January, such as the Taereung CC, Gwacheon Racecourse, and the Defense Security Command site, are scheduled to begin construction by 2029.

2. The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Cyber Investigation Unit has conducted a search and seizure operation at the server management company of the People Power Party regarding the so-called party member bulletin board case involving independent lawmaker Han Dong-hoon. Jung Hee-yong, Secretary-General of the People Power Party, stated, "It is true that there was a search and seizure of the server management company yesterday (the 12th), and we cooperated with the investigation to the minimum necessary extent." Recently, the police have continued their investigation by summoning officials from the party's Public Relations Bureau who managed the bulletin board and requesting the party's secretariat to preserve the bulletin board server data.

3. The National Tax Service has detected tax evasion allegations against KB Kookmin Bank and launched a special tax audit. Investigation Bureau 4 of the Seoul Regional National Tax Service deployed around 30 investigators to the new KB Kookmin Bank building in Yeouido, Seoul, this morning to secure relevant data. While the specific reasons have not been confirmed, Investigation Bureau 4 previously conducted irregular tax audits on Hana Financial Group and Meritz Securities last May.

4. Here is some welcome news. Homeplus, which went into temporary suspension last month, reopened 67 stores nationwide today. These stores temporarily resumed operations starting on the 7th and have now begun normal operations today. Homeplus announced that to coincide with the official reopening, it has prepared large-scale discount events, including a half-price Korean beef promotion.
