The National Tax Service (NTS) has captured allegations of tax evasion by KB Kookmin Bank and initiated an irregular (special) tax audit.

According to the financial sector today (the 13th), the Investigation Bureau 4 of the Seoul Regional National Tax Service dispatched investigators to the new headquarters of KB Kookmin Bank in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, to secure accounting materials necessary for the tax probe.

Bureau 4 is responsible for irregular tax audits regarding corporate tax evasion suspicions beyond regular audits, and is often referred to as the "grim reaper of the business world."

The audit is scheduled to run until the end of this year, and the specific reasons have not been confirmed.

The NTS stated, "We cannot confirm information regarding tax audits or other details on individual taxpayers."
