Here is the movie news for this week. The sequel to "OK! Madam," starring Uhm Jung-hwa, and the independent film "Lovers in Empty Houses" have hit theaters.

A sequel has been released to "OK! Madam," which drew over 1.2 million moviegoers when it opened right in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic back in 2020.

This comedic action film follows Uhm Jung-hwa, a former agent turned twisted doughnut shop owner, who gets caught up in a kidnapping incident after being invited to a luxury cruise vacation.

Following the first film, actors like Park Sung-woong and Bae Jung-nam return, while Choi Soo-young stars as a criminal organization leader.

Eun-ja is an outcast in her village due to her abrasive words and actions, while Pal-bok travels around the country breaking into empty rural houses.

Two elderly individuals who are completely different get tangled up in an unexpected incident, gradually growing closer and finding vitality in their lives.

The film "Lovers in Empty Houses" is reminiscent of "People and Meat," an independent film that drew attention last year.

Veteran independent film actors Jung Ae-hwa and Gi Joo-bong take on the lead roles.

The entire film was shot across Jeollabuk-do, including Jeonju, Iksan, and Buan, capturing the local scenery along the way.

"Vive L'Amour," winner of the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival in 1994, is one of the representative works of the Taiwanese New Wave.

Set in Taipei in the 1990s amidst rapid economic growth.

It depicts lonely youths living in a big city who have little to their name and nowhere to place their hearts.

It is particularly famous for the long take in the final scene where the female lead bursts into tears.

It is being re-released in a 4K remastered version 30 years later.

"The Highway Fallen Angel," the 29th theatrical feature of the popular Japanese animation series "Detective Conan," has been released.

Chihaya Hagiwara, a police mobile squad officer known as the wind who chases an unidentified black motorcycle running amok through the city, makes her first appearance in a theatrical film.

It is the second highest-grossing film franchise in Japanese cinematic history.
