It has belatedly been learned that a female high school student and her mother in Busan saved the life of a police officer who collapsed and lost consciousness on their way to school.

According to the Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education today (August 13), Jin, a second-year student at Banyaeo High School, found a man identified as Mr. A collapsed on the street while heading to school with her mother at 7:40 AM on June 10.

Mr. A, a police officer assigned to the Haeundae Police Station, was reportedly unconscious at the time.

In response, Jin's mother immediately performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), while Jin called 119 and assisted with emergency measures following the guidance of a safety guard.

Fortunately, Mr. A regained consciousness and breathing, and Jin and her mother stayed by his side and cared for him until 119 paramedics arrived.

Jin, who has a usual interest in the field of emergency rescue, reportedly learned first-aid methods through activities in the school's health and medical exploration club.

The Haeundae Police Station presented a certificate of appreciation to Jin on July 21, and the school also awarded her a citation.
