Comedian and director Shim Hyung-rae's 2007 film 'D-War' is experiencing a sudden surge in popularity on Netflix 19 years after its release.

According to global OTT viewership ranking sites, 'D-War' ranked 6th on the Netflix global top 10 chart in the film category.

In particular, it climbed to 2nd place in major European countries such as France and Germany.

'D-War' is a sci-fi fantasy film directed by Shim Hyung-rae, centering on the Imugi, a legendary creature from Korean folklore.

Upon its release in 2007, the film drew over 8 million moviegoers with a storyline and computer graphics that were quite unprecedented for a Korean film at the time, recording one of the top box-office hits domestically that year.
