Major League Baseball's Chicago White Sox, known as the team supported by Pope Leo XIV, held a special event for their home fans.

From young children to the team mascot, some 38,000 fans who visited the stadium are having fun wearing "Pope Hats."

The team gave away "Pope Hats" as gifts to fans to honor Pope Leo XIV, an American who is from Chicago and a longtime fan of the White Sox.

Initially, they planned to prepare about 2,500, but as ticket reservations surged upon hearing the news of the event, they significantly increased the quantity to 40,000.

With the start of the game signaled by a powerful ceremonial first pitch by a nun from a Chicago religious order, White Sox players also spent a special night by performing a Pope Hat celebration whenever a home run was hit.
