Independent lawmaker Han Dong-hoon did not comply with a summons from the comprehensive special counsel regarding the meeting among the ruling party, government, and presidential office held on the day the December 3 emergency martial law was lifted.

The comprehensive special counsel announced through a media briefing today (the 12th) that "we delivered a notice via his lawmaker's office instructing lawmaker Han to appear as a witness, but he did not appear and gave no response regarding his attendance."

The special counsel views the "Samcheong-dong safehouse meeting" held on December 4, 2024, as a session aimed at building a rationale to justify the martial law, and suspects that this meeting took place as an extension of the ruling party-government-presidential office meeting held earlier the same day.

Lawmaker Han, who was the leader of the People Power Party at the time, also attended the ruling party-government-presidential office meeting.

The special counsel stated, "Considering that there is not much time left in the investigation period, we are not reviewing a re-summons for lawmaker Han."
