Asiana Airlines has passed a proposal to merge with Korean Air at an extraordinary shareholders' meeting.

Asiana Airlines announced today (the 12th) that the agenda item for "approval of the conclusion of a merger agreement" was passed as originally proposed at its extraordinary shareholders' meeting.

With the passage of the merger proposal at the shareholders' meeting, the corporate combination process between Korean Air and Asiana Airlines, which began in November 2020, has entered its final stages.

The two companies plan to officially launch the integrated Korean Air on December 17.
