The National Security Office of Cheong Wa Dae convened an emergency security inspection meeting regarding North Korea's firing of another ballistic missile just six days after its previous launch.

The National Security Office announced that following North Korea's launch of a ballistic missile from the Wonsan area toward the East Sea today (August 12), it held an emergency security inspection meeting attended by relevant agencies, including the Ministry of National Defense and the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

The Security Office stated, "Through today's meeting, we checked our response posture, analyzed and evaluated the impact of this ballistic missile launch on our security, and directed necessary measures."

It continued, "We express concern over North Korea's continuous ballistic missile launches following the one on the 6th," and emphasized, "North Korea's ballistic missile launch is a provocative act that violates United Nations Security Council resolutions, and we urge an immediate halt to it."

Earlier, the Joint Chiefs of Staff announced that it detected a ballistic missile launched from the Wonsan area toward the East Sea at around 6:00 a.m. today.
