Many pet owners worry about ticks every time they walk their dogs in the summer.

Are owners taking out onion mesh bags?

Recently, pictures and videos of companion dogs wearing onion mesh bags or jars mesh on their heads have been posted one after another on online communities and social media.

One owner explained that after finding a tick in their dog's ear despite using an external dewormer, they tried putting an onion mesh bag on the dog, which kept pushing its head into the bushes.

The owner shared that since the dog adapted without much aversion, they have been having the dog wear it during summer walks to block ticks.

Other owners also drew attention by sharing similar methods using jar mesh covers and the like.

One owner reported that after putting an onion mesh bag on their dog during walks, instances of ticks attaching to the ears decreased.

In fact, ticks inhabiting bushes during the summer can transmit infectious diseases to companion dogs, and some diseases can also be transmitted to humans, requiring caution.

Experts advised that after a walk, owners should thoroughly check areas where ticks easily attach, such as the dog's ears, neck, and between the toes.
