Good news for young people who find jobs in regional areas, as support funds are set to see a significant increase.

The government is slated to announce a youth job recovery plan as early as next week, which strengthens direct support for young job seekers.

Currently, individuals aged 34 or younger who have been employed for over six months in population-decline regions receive 300,000 won per month.

This amounts to a maximum of 7.2 million won over two years.

The government is now reviewing plans to raise this support to 800,000 won per month, up to a maximum of 19.2 million won.

Discussions are also underway to more than double the support amounts for population-decline support areas and general non-capital regions respectively.
