An analysis of tourism data by the Korea Tourism Organization showed that search volumes for domestic autumn foliage spots targeting the September holiday have surged since August.

Reservation rates for accommodations at major autumn travel destinations, such as Mount Seorak and Mount Naejang, are also rising rapidly.

In October, if you use three days of annual leave sandwiched between the alternative holiday for National Foundation Day on Monday, October 5, and Hangul Day on October 9, another nine-day break is complete.

If you add annual leave on October 1 and 2 as well, an astonishing golden holiday of up to 11 days becomes possible.

Thanks to these extended vacation periods, demand for long-distance overseas travel to places like Europe and the United States is surging.

Meanwhile, domestically, resting-type travel involving long-term stays in quiet countryside areas and small towns is gaining popularity.
