The first piece of news: a horse fell into a tidal flat?

What does that mean?

It means exactly what it sounds like.

A horse that was unable to move after getting stuck in a tidal flat has been safely rescued by the Coast Guard.

This happened at around 10:20 a.m. yesterday (August 11).

The Pyeongtaek Coast Guard received a report that a horse was stuck in a tidal flat and unable to move.

Earlier, the owner of the horse and acquaintances were riding horses to a nearby island accessible during low tide, and the owner fell off the horse on the way back.

Startled by the incident, the horse ran toward the tidal flat, got stuck in the mud, and ended up unable to move forward or backward.

At the time, the seawater had started to rise again after low tide, meaning the horse could have been in danger if the operation was delayed.

The Coast Guard carried out the rescue operation by digging away the mud around the horse to secure space for it to move, tying a rope around it, and pulling it out.

About 40 minutes after receiving the report, they were able to completely pull the horse out of the tidal flat.

It is truly a fortunate piece of news.
