Ukraine has claimed that North Korean missiles were used in Russia's attacks. It also warned that Russia is expected to launch a large-scale offensive backed by North Korean troop support once its general elections in September conclude.

Dark red flames soar into the air as firefighters desperately spray water to put out the fire.

Russian missile attacks continued on the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv yesterday, local time (August 11).

Ukrainian authorities stated that six civilians were killed and 19 others were injured in the Russian attacks.

In particular, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy claimed that North Korean-made ballistic missiles were mobilized in this attack.

This marks the second time Ukraine has reported being targeted by North Korean missiles. Authorities noted that Russia has recently been increasing the deployment of North Korean troops and receiving additional ballistic missile support.

Ukrainian intelligence agencies have assessed that the North Korean missile unit consists of about 90 personnel, with around 40 North Korean missiles, such as the KN-23, deployed.

It is also projected that North Korean troop support will reach 50,000 personnel, exceeding the previously anticipated level of 30,000.

Ukraine stated that Russia will launch a large-scale offensive utilizing North Korean troops and weapon support after the Russian general elections in September.

Ukraine warned that the massive deployment of North Korean troops and weapon support could potentially pose a threat to South Korea, and is requesting air defense systems and other support from the South Korean government through diplomatic channels.

The South Korean government is currently maintaining a cautious stance regarding Ukraine's request.
