North Korea fired an unidentified projectile toward the east today (August 12), the Joint Chiefs of Staff announced.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff are analyzing the specifications and range of the North Korean projectile.

If the North Korean projectile is confirmed to be a ballistic missile, it will mark the first launch in six days.

Previously, North Korea fired one short-range ballistic missile toward the East Sea from the Wonsan area at around 5 p.m. on the 6th.
