It has belatedly been revealed that professional football players from Gwangju FC rescued a driver trapped in a burning vehicle, drawing widespread praise.

At that moment, two men step out of a yellow bus that stopped next to the burning vehicle and run without hesitation toward the car, safely pulling the injured driver out.

The individuals who risked their safety to rescue the driver were Gwangju FC players Shin Chang-mu and Friðjónsson, who were returning after an away match.

The team stayed at the accident scene until an ambulance arrived.

[Friðjónsson / Gwangju FC Forward: The car was on fire, and I needed to know if anyone was inside. If someone was there, we had to help. Player Shin Chang-mu ran over first, and I followed him.]

[Shin Chang-mu / Gwangju FC Vice-Captain: I think I just happened to be the closest. That is why I simply feel I did what I had to do.]

The Korea Professional Football League is considering rewarding the Gwangju FC players for bringing heartwarming news to the football community.
