The National Election Commission (NEC) announced on the 7th that it dismissed a petition filed by a general voter demanding to nullify the Seoul mayoral election, citing issues such as a shortage of ballot papers during the June 3 local elections.

The NEC explained the reason for the dismissal by stating, "While it is true that election-related regulations were violated due to the shortage of ballot papers and the suspension of voting, it cannot be seen as having affected the election outcome."

The NEC also dismissed petitions regarding the superintendent of education elections in Seoul and Incheon for the same reasons.
