The monthly active users of the Google app in South Korea have surpassed the Naver app for the first time since statistics began to be compiled in 2021.

According to mobile market research firm IGAWorks' Mobile Index, Google app users reached approximately 47.02 million last month, leading Naver by about 170,000.

This increase in the number of users is attributed to the expanded adoption of Google's generative AI models and its search and conversational AI services.
