Professional football club Ulsan HD announced today (August 11) that it will host a commemoration event for the 81st Liberation Day during its K League 1 Round 23 home match against Gangwon FC, scheduled for 7:30 PM on August 16 at Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium.

Jeon Si-hu, a descendant of the late independence activist Yoon Jin-ok who was a native of the Ulsan region, will deliver the match ball and take part in the ceremonial kick-off.

Jeon's great-grandfather, the late Yoon Jin-ok, was forcibly mobilized in 1944 while attending Busan No. 2 Commercial School for the expansion of the Ulsan airfield and road construction projects.

At the time, he led slowdown strikes with his peers and engaged in activities opposing recruitment into the Japanese military, for which he was arrested by the Japanese colonial police and suffered imprisonment in Busan Prison.

Ulsan will also hold a nighttime-themed cultural event, the "Blue Bomb Festival," ahead of the match against Gangwon.

DJs Dami and King Bron will present an exciting DJ performance.

Twenty minutes before kickoff, a pre-match show will take place featuring DJ music as the stadium is plunged into darkness, accompanied by vibrant lighting, videos on the first- and second-floor LED ribbon boards, fireworks, and water cannons.
