Minister of Planning and Budget Park Hong-keun has instructed ministry officials to meticulously review next year's upcoming budget proposal until the very end and to enhance its overall quality.
"The formulation of the 2027 budget plan and the establishment of the 2026–2030 National Fiscal Management Plan are nearing their final stages," Minister Park said during an expanded executive meeting held at the Government Complex Sejong today (August 11).
He went on to emphasize, "All policies are completed only when the public can understand and relate to them. Please make special efforts to explain and communicate thoroughly from the perspective of the public."
Minister Park also checked the preparation status for a package of support measures targeting the youth generation.
"Comprehensive support is necessary, spanning education, jobs, assets, housing, and childbirth and child-rearing," he noted, adding, "In particular, please pay attention to resolving the 'marriage penalty' so that people do not hesitate to get married because of national policies."
Furthermore, ahead of the regular session of the National Assembly opening next month, he instructed officials to communicate closely with parliament and promptly submit key legislative initiatives, such as the Public Interest Reporter Encouragement Fund Act and the Voluntary Carbon Market Act.
He also called for improvements to the organizational culture.
"Please push forward with tasks that can be implemented immediately, such as education to eradicate workplace harassment, standardization of report formats, and minimization of business trips," Park said. "Executives should take the lead in reducing unnecessary work and consider allowing employees sufficient opportunities to recharge."
