Director Shin Jae-ho, who directed the film "I'm Your Man," has been sued by its production company for alleged obstruction of business.

According to the film industry on the 10th, Baecine Production, the production company behind "I'm Your Man," filed a police complaint against Director Shin for obstruction of business and breach of trust. The production company claimed that Director Shin recently uploaded a rough cut of the film online, including on YouTube, causing damage to a work preparing for submission to the Busan International Film Festival.

On the afternoon of the same day, Director Shin posted on his social media, "Never in my life did I imagine being sued by the production company for 'obstructing business' on a film I directed and invested in. Is this a charge of self-obstruction?? What good thing is about to happen... haha," expressing his absurd feelings.

Director Shin received a notice to appear from Investigation Team 20 of the Seoul Gangnam Police Station through the National Office of Investigation of the Korean National Police Agency on August 10, and is scheduled to appear at the Gangnam Police Station for questioning by 2:00 PM on August 18.

It is reported that both the production company and the director had differences during the production process. Director Shin's side argued that the director's creative role and intent were not respected during the completion process of the work. The production company claimed that Director Shin notified them of his intention to step down via email, and shortly afterwards unilaterally uploaded the film to YouTube, dealing a heavy blow to the production company.

Director Shin has removed all rough-cut videos previously made public on YouTube and social media. He stated his intention not to upload any additional content and to let the production company proceed with post-production and release. He emphasized that the final credits must clearly state "Adapted by Shin Jae-ho / Directed by Shin Jae-ho."

He also stated that he will faithfully participate in the police investigation to explain the facts. He added, "I hope this issue serves as an opportunity to look back on the creative authority and decision-making structure of directors in the independent film production field."

"I'm Your Man" is a black comedy film motivated by the true story of a housewife gambling ring, starring Lee Ji-hoon, Moon Hee-kyung, Bang Eun-hee, Choi Yoon-young, Kim Ki-bang, and Jung Ho-bin. The film was produced with 300 million won in production support from the Busan Film Commission and Director Shin's own funds. Recently, the work was released via YouTube and surpassed 100,000 views.
