To guarantee rest amid intense heatwaves, postal parcel delivery workers will take summer leave for two days on August 14 and 18.

Consequently, postal parcels accepted from August 13 to 18 may experience delivery delays of about 2 to 3 days compared to normal, and the acceptance of fresh food items will be restricted from August 13 to 19.

The Korea Post under the Ministry of Science and ICT plans to maintain parcel delivery volumes at normal levels so that the workload does not increase even if some postal workers report to work, and actively guide workers to exercise their right to suspend operations in the event of severe weather conditions such as heatwaves.

To guarantee rest for courier service workers, the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the courier industry have designated and operated August 14 as "Parcel Courier Rest Day" every year since 2020.
