The Mediheal-Hankook Ilbo Championship, the second tournament of the second half of the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour with a total purse of 1.2 billion won, will kick off the day after tomorrow (Thursday, August 13).

Marking its 5th anniversary this year, the Mediheal-Hankook Ilbo Championship will be held for four days at Montvert Country Club in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province.

A total of 123 players will compete for the championship trophy in this tournament.

Top KLPGA Tour powerhouses will gather in full force, led by Kim Min-sol, who has already secured three wins this season and leads the rankings in multiple wins, prize money (989.62 million won), and Daesang points (313 points), alongside Seo Gyo-rim, Kim Min-sun, and Yu Hyun-jo.

Kim Min-sol, who finished tied for 53rd at the Jeju Samdasoo Masters last week, will make another bid for her first win of the latter half of the season and her fourth win overall this season.

Defending champion Hong Jeong-min, who claimed the prize money title last season, will enter the title defense.

Hong, who enjoyed her best season last year with three wins including this tournament, has experienced a slump this season due to a back injury.

Chang Eun-soo, who captured her first victory 10 years after making her regular tour debut at last week's Jeju Samdasoo Masters—the first tournament of the second half—aims to keep her momentum going for consecutive wins.

Notably, LPGA Tour major champions Kim A-rim and Park Sung-hyun will participate as invited players.

Kim A-rim will meet fans on the KLPGA Tour for the first time in a year since this tournament last year, while Park Sung-hyun returns to a domestic KLPGA event for the first time in about four months since April's The Siena Open, the domestic season opener.
