The Gimje Police Station in Jeonbuk State announced today (August 11) that it has arrested and is investigating an 80s-identified man, Mr. A, on charges of attempted murder for stabbing his wife and son at home.

Mr. A is accused of stabbing his wife in her 80s, Ms. B, in the shoulder and his son in his 50s, Mr. C, in the abdomen with a weapon at his home in Gimje at 5:47 a.m. today.

Ms. B and Mr. C are currently receiving treatment at a hospital.

Authorities determined that the incident occurred when Mr. A tried to leave the house, and after his wife and son tried to stop him, he grabbed a weapon from the kitchen and stabbed them.

Police investigations revealed that Mr. A was diagnosed with dementia early this year.

Police are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the incident.
