Director Hur Jin-ho, known for films such as "A Normal Family" and "The Last Princess," is returning with "The Assassins," a movie based on the 1974 assassination attempt on the First Lady.

Director Hur stated that he strived to tell the story through a balanced and objective lens.

Starring actors Yoo Hae-jin, Park Hae-il, and Lee Min-ho, "The Assassins" focuses on the incident that took place during the Liberation Day ceremony on August 15, 1974.

The film adds imagination to historical events to depict the stories of people pursuing the truth.

Director Hur shared that it was not an easy story to tell, having deliberated over it for more than 10 years.

Although the subject has been covered by various media outlets, he felt compelled to make the film because lingering questions remain surrounding the case.

He explained that he made an effort to approach the narrative with a balanced and objective perspective, free of preconceived notions.
