Police have launched a full-scale investigation into allegations that ADOR, the agency of girl group NewJeans, leaked the visa information of Vietnamese-Australian member Hanni.

The Seoul Yongsan Police Station announced that it called in the legal representative of pop culture critic Kim Sung-soo, who filed a complaint against ADOR and its executives and employees for violating the Personal Information Protection Act, for questioning today (August 10).

Critic Kim claimed that ADOR and others leaked personal information acquired in the course of business—such as Hanni's E-6 arts and entertainment visa type, expiration date, and the progress of her visa extension application documents—to the media and others amid an exclusive contract dispute.

Previously, Hanni declared the termination of her exclusive contract citing the agency's failure to fulfill its obligations, and her existing visa expired while she was undergoing the dispute.

Later, in February of last year, some entertainment media outlets reported that if Hanni were to leave ADOR, her agency would cease to exist, meaning she would fail to meet the requirements for visa issuance and could become an undocumented immigrant.
