Volleyball legend Kim Yeon-koung has received the inaugural Achievement Award from the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC).
Kim received the achievement award trophy at the 1st AVC Gala Awards held in Bangkok, Thailand, on the 9th (local time).
The AVC stated that it presented the award in recognition of Kim's dazzling achievements throughout her playing career and her dedication to the development of Asian volleyball.
"I thank the fans for their unwavering love and support," Kim said. "I will do my best for the younger generations and junior players."
Even after her retirement from active play, Kim continues to engage in various activities, serving as the chair of the KYK Foundation, an advisor for Heungkuk Life, and a co-owner of San Francisco in League One Volleyball (LOVB).
