Actor Park Hae-il has chosen the film "The Assassin(s)" as his return to the big screen after four years, heralding another passionate acting transformation.

Attending the press conference for the movie "The Assassin(s)" held at Yongsan CGV in Seoul on the morning of the 10th, Park Hae-il gave meaning to his "film appearance after four years." True to his words, this marks his first film appearance in four years since "Decision to Leave".

Park Hae-il explained his character, saying, "I play Jae-hwan, a mid-level reporter for a newspaper company called Dongsung Ilbo in the 1970s. At the August 15th celebration event, since I am not at the scene, I confirm the occurrence of the assassination through the newspaper company's live broadcast. Then, with a reporter's intuition, I track down the questions and suspicions surrounding the incident, questioning and reporting on it."

This is his second time working with Director Hur Jin-ho following the movie "The Last Princess". Park Hae-il stated, "It is a grateful thing that he sought me out as an actor again after 10 years. When he proposed a new character this time, he mentioned it might not be an easy one, but asked me to play a character who pushes forward firmly and with seasoned skill toward the truth if I took it on. He entrusted it to me with trust, which also brought pressure."

Director Hur Jin-ho explained the reason for choosing Park Hae-il and his contribution on set, saying, "Jae-hwan is a logical person who thinks a lot. So when I looked at the script, actor Park Hae-il came to mind. He plays the role of a leader in the newspaper office space, and he actually helped the junior actors playing reporters a lot so they could immerse themselves in the drama. During Young-il's (Lee Minho) filming scenes, even when he wasn't appearing, he would come to the set, squat in a corner, and have conversations with them."

"The Assassin(s)" is a story tracking the suspicions and mastermind behind the first lady assassination incident that shocked South Korea on August 15, 1974. It is directed by Director Hur Jin-ho and stars Yoo Hai-jin, Park Hae-il, and Lee Minho.

The film can be met in theaters during Chuseok.
