A man in his 30s has been arrested by police for allegedly attempting to murder a convenience store owner with a weapon.
The Bucheon Ojeong Police Station in Gyeonggi Province announced today (August 10) that it has arrested a man in his 30s, identified as A, on charges of attempted murder.
A is accused of attempting to kill a female convenience store owner in her 60s by stabbing her with a weapon at a convenience store in Ojeong-gu, Bucheon, at around 9:30 PM on August 7, and threatening a convenience store employee by brandishing the weapon.
The store owner suffered injuries to her shoulder and other areas and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital, though her life is not in danger, according to authorities.
A was subdued at the scene by the convenience store employee and a customer, and responding police officers took him into custody.
It was found that A had a past record of causing disturbances at the convenience store, having been reported to the police twice before.
Police believe that A and the owner had an ongoing conflict and are currently investigating the precise details and motives behind the crime.
